Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z60m is extremely secure, providing an embedded TPM security chip that works with Lenovo’s installed client security software. The Z60m is also well connected, featuring Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, and an EV-DO cellular data radio; there is no Bluetooth option.
The Z60m can be configured with a 1.86-GHz Intel Pentium M 750 and 5,400-rpm hard drive, a combination that promises great performance for $1,449 additional. External interfaces range from an S-Video output, FireWire port, and three USB 2.0 ports to an SD/MMC/Memory Stick reader, PC Card slot, and ExpressCard/54 slot.
The ThinkPad Z60m is reasonably portable, weighing 6.3 pounds and running well in excess of three hours on battery power, impressive given its 15.4-inch WXGA widescreen display. A huge selling point is its ThinkVantage Productivity Center utility that can find wireless networks, back up files, and update software, among other tasks.
